Office Manager

Role description:
Our Office Manager (OM) will provide comprehensive administrative and project management support to the Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The Office Manager will assist with the management of ongoing projects, aid in the development of ongoing and future initiatives and play a vital role in ensuring a high level of service excellence and communication within the ThriveKids team, strategic partners and community.

The Office Manager will be a strong communicator who enjoys connecting with our exceptional kids and parents. The OM will also demonstrate, a high level of collaboration and teamwork across the organization, including in particular working closely with our Lead Mentors and Volunteers and getting involve in our amazing programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer phone calls and e-mails, manage the general inbox and correspondence
  • Schedule and manage ThriveKids and the CEO agendas
  • Hire, onboard and train new hires and volunteers
    Direct and assist staff
  • Supervise and evaluate our programs delivery and planification
  • Develop actions plans to respond client needs
  • Maintain an active communication with our partners and community
  • Administer and process expenses and budgets
    May be required to support other areas
  • Other administrative tasks as required

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Human Resources Management or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role supporting an executive and in a leadership position.
  • Must offer a kind and compassionate style respectful of kids’ intelligence and sensitivities and feel comfortable spending time with them.
  • Experience working in an educational field is an asset.
  • Behavior management skills and experience working with students with learning disabilities and/or ADHD is an asset.

Lead Mentor & Camp Counsellor

Role description:

Our Lead Mentors, you will be responsible for working with fellow staff, developing curriculum and leading programs for both neurotypical and neurodiverse kids ages 4 to 14. Our programs are proprietary and unique, reaching a range of children from gifted to learning exceptionalities who many need a little extra help. We need your help supporting our programs and our exceptional clients by offering kindness and empathy and an amazing program!

Responsibilities:

  • Work with other Lead mentors and staff members to plan and coordinate programs, camps and activities.
  • Execute a proprietary program of 20/20/20 (20 minutes of fun vigorous exercise, 20 minutes of Life Skills training and 20 minutes of mindfulness, social skills and relaxation)
  • Implement various programs such as Food is Fuel and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics)
  • Develop curriculum and activities for different programs, PA Day camps and Summer Camps.
  • Lead and support kids as they participate in age-appropriate activities.
  • Monitor our exceptional kids to ensure their safety and prevent accidents.
  • Report and record details of incidents
  • Clean, maintain and ensure proper use of ThriveKids facilities and equipment.
  • Participate in staff meetings

Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience working with children (Camp counsellors, After school programs, ECEs, ECAs, other educational programs)
  • Experience working with children with a variety of needs/diagnoses (sensory processing disorder, feeding concerns, fine motor delay, gross motor delay, writing issues, Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, DCD, etc.)
  • Experience teaching or performing a particular sport or movement class is an asset
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in a verbal and written manner.
  • Strong group facilitation skills – the role will require facilitating activities with a group of kids, not one to one.
  • Ability to accept supervision and guidance
  • Experience with program planning and implementation
  • Good character, integrity, and adaptability
  • Self-directed, self-learner and willing to work independently
  • Available to work after school and evening hours during the weekdays and possibly weekends
  • Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control

Elementary Teacher (Learning Partners) - Vanguard Academy

Role description:

In this role you will help to build the foundation for a new advanced school and system that benefits children with and without exceptionalities. Your skills and talents are in two areas, because you are both intellectual and creative. While being an exemplary guide for the bright children who attend this school, you will also be able to help establish some of its founding building blocks for this year and for the future! 

Our Elementary Teachers (ET), will be responsible for creating lesson plans and effective curricula focused on developing social, physical, intellectual, and emotional skills, assessing children’s individual needs, implementing innovative teaching methods and communicating with parents as required. It’s important that you should be able to form interpersonal relationships with our exceptional students and be able to create a nurturing, stimulating classroom where every child feels included.

Our ET will be a strong team worker that enjoys collaborating with a team of teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure that our students receive the best education we can provide. 

Top candidates will also be excellent leaders and mentors, able to use their knowledge to raise fellow teachers up and make lasting improvements to the school’s educational processes.
